We are intentionally adding random Kriolu words here! Our books are being sold to bring Cape Verdean language (lingua) and culture (kultura) closer to everyone—at home (kaza), in schools (skola), and in the broader community (komunidadi). Each book is bilingual, featuring both Cape Verdean Kriolu and English, so that everyone—whether fluent or just beginning—can learn side by side, share with family, and connect with heritage in an accessible, enjoyable way. 

We believe in engaging more Kriolu across our site and resources, helping keep the language alive for future generations, thus you will see random Kriolu words mingled in the text—this is intentional. Why? We are keeping the language alive! At the same time, we are mindful and respectful that our audience is primarily an English-speaking community here in the United States. Make no mistake—our commitment to Cape Verdean language and culture is not compromised, and every bilingual book is a step forward in unity, understanding, and cultural unity. Get it?
